An operating system is a system where programmes are designed to run other programs on a computer. Every computer has a program called an operating system [OS]. Operating system controls the basic functions of any computer. The OS is always at work “behind the scenes” whenever other applications are running in the system. Graphical user interference [GUI] often forms part of the computer and that which facilitates the GUI computer user to access the mouse and move information and run programmes. Operating systems monitor different programs and its users, by making sure everything runs smoothly, without interference, despite the fact that numerous devices and programs are used simultaneously.
