Cambodia and other countries form the eastern half of the Southeast Asian peninsula. The capital city is Phnom Penh and the currency is called Riel. It has a tropical climate with high temperatures all year around and lies between the latitude is 13o 00' North and longitude is 150o 00' East respectively. Ninety per cent of Cambodians are Khmers, an ancient people who had a flourishing kingdom. The languages spoken by the people of this country are Chinese, Khmer, and vietnamese. Most live in small rural villages, where houses are often built on stilts to avoid flooding during the monsoon rains. The highly stylized classical dance of Cambodia is based on religious dances, where the dancers spend years perfecting their graceful movements. Some of the sightseeing spots and attractions of Cambodia are Tonle Sap, Silver padoda, Bokar hill station, Koh Ker, Kratie, Bayon Temple, and Angkor Wat.
